Plymouth Armed Forces Day

Where better than to celebrate all the military past and present than on the Hoe!!

The day was a massive success and very popular so Four Greens Community Trust felt truly honoured to be a part of this exciting day.

Firstly, we had our Four Greens Veterans Outreach Co-ordinator, Glenn Jordan showing several clubs that he helped to set up, specifically for Veterans, current military and their families. The clubs include photography, sailing, wheelchair rugby, cycling and a Veterans Hub. Find out more by visiting his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FGCTVets/

Clubs that Glenn has helped set up. Great variety!

Secondly,we would also like to thank our Community Builders for being a part of the day. Each Community builder is allocated an area of Plymouth to concentrate on so check the website to see who your Community Builder is!

Community Builders embed themselves in communities. They will listen to people and use existing strengths, organisations, and passions as a starting point for greater connection, activity, and collective support. This approach is known as Asset Based Community Development.

They will work with residents and members of the community around issues that affect them. They will be able to support finding local solutions, together with friends, neighbours and other members of the community. Although they are fairly new in their roles, they have excelled amazingly and helped and engaged with more people than you'd ever imagine!

Again, thank you everyone from FGCT and Community Builders for making the day even more successful than it already was. And to all the visitors that went to show your support, thank you. Any support is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
