Men's Community Builder
The Men's Community Builder works with many of the men’s groups in Plymouth helping them reach new people and connecting them together. They help to highlight issues around men’s health, working with different mental health organisations and support groups around male cancers. They also attend men’s groups to hear what people are saying the problems are at a grass roots level and work with them to create solutions.

'My career has taken many twists and turns. I started in science with a degree in Conservation Biology and then went on to working in labs at both Exeter University and Derriford Hospital. At Derriford I became involved in union work, as a work place representative, supporting members and learning more about employment law. I then joined and became the chair of the LGBT+ Staff Network. Both of these gave me keen interest in community engagement and support.

This led me to become the Community Builder for Men. In this role I use my history of networking, engagement and event planning to help connect men together, to create a stronger community. I love to find out what is happening and how I can get involved and support. Finding out people’s stories and each person’s unique skills that they can share with others. This has led to various projects such as the international men’s day event in November 2024 and launching the Men’s Health Network in 2025. I have undergone extra training so that I can better support people in the moment; Wellbeing Champion, Mental Health First Aid and Cancer Champion training. Currently doing a Masters Degree in Creative Event Management to better support events in the community and the work I do with Plymouth Pride CIC.'

He is looking forward to building a stronger more connected community for men, so that all men know where they can go, know what is available for them and are more able to talk about the issues affecting them.

Interests - games, reading, cinema, baking, and meeting with friends.
