Four Greens Community Trust is determined to support local organisation and its community to improve their physical and mental health. Some of the services that we currently provide include:
Tea and Toast
Co-ordinated by our partners Timebank, every Wednesday morning 10-12:30 members of our community can attend a 'Tea and Toast' session which encourages friendships to be made, opportunity to learn new skills and if required to discuss any personal issues with colleagues.
We currently have two fitness classes which run from the Whitleigh Hub. On a Monday morning 9:30-10:30 we have a fitness class for all abilities run by Sobey Fitness. On a Friday morning we also run a Yoga session 9:30-10:30. If you are interested in either of these classes please contact us.
Diabetes Support Courses
In partnership with Diabetes UK the centre run regular support courses for people with Type 1 & 2 Diabetes that helps them to manage the condition and realise what they can rather than what they cannot do. These classes run throughout the year.
Four Greens Community Trust is delighted to be working with Livewell South West and host courses to include eating on a diet, One You courses and Smoking Cessation. Please see below further details about our valued partners.
Livewell Southwest is an independent, award winning social enterprise providing integrated health and social care services for people across Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon, as well as some specialist services for people living in parts of Devon and Cornwall. Our mission is to support people to lead independent, healthy lives in the place and the community in which they live, and we aim to be the very best at helping people to live well.
One You Plymouth is commissioned by Plymouth City Council and delivered by Livewell Southwest’s Wellbeing Team, and supports people to take the first steps through simple changes towards a healthier lifestyle. We work in partnership with community groups and organisations to support these aims, and provide tools, support and encouragement every step of the way to help improve your health and lifestyle.
Run by members of our local community every Wednesday from 12:30-15:00, a craft class runs for our community to learn new skills such as, card making, ceramics, painting etc. Many of the items made are then sold to support local charities and groups.
On a Monday and Tuesday evening 18:00-22:00, Headspace facilitate a drop in for peer-to-peer support for people who are struggling with their mental health. There is no need for an appointment just come in or give us a call on 07890257614.
